What is a...404 Error Page?

The Error 404 "Page Not Found" is the error page displayed whenever someone asks for a webpage that does not exist on your website.

So why doesn't the page exist? There may be a link to your website that was wrong or out-of-date, or the page may have been removed from the website during an update or redesign. So when a user is directed to the non-existent page, the web server cannot find what was requested.

When a server can't find the requested page, most websites display an ugly, automated page which is not part of their website. But good web companies set up an error page with their website's layout and color scheme that redirects to another page in the website...
