FAQ's on Technology

 Select a Department / Topic:
General Computer Errors This section of FAQs is geared toward general errors received by the user.
    Error Messages
Question:  What should I do when I receive an error message?
Answer:  You first need to read the error message and determine if the message is in response to an operation that you performed incorrectly. If so, verify the proper manner in which to accomplish the task and try it again. If the error persists and you are fairly sure you are performing it correctly, save all your work and reboot your computer. After the reboot, try the task again. Often, a reboot will clear out system memory and irritating memory related problems. If the problem persists after all of this, you have a problem that needs to be addressed.
    Getting Help
Question:  How do I get help with a program or utility?
Answer:  Most programs include desktop help, web-based help or both. And these programs will display their help files if you depress the F1 key at the top of your keyboard. Better yet, some programs will take you directly to a help topic based on where you are in the program, or based on which field your cursor is in at the time you press F1.

Try it out. Most software vendors provide a wealth of information in their help files. They document processes as well as simple functions.
